Story behind the song
Of all the songs I've written this was most critical. As an Intercessor (someone who prays The perfect will of God for others)there are many times God Himself will come by His Spirit to ask who will pray? It's not like I'm superhuman who cares for everyone, I really wished I did or could but only Jesus Christ accomplished that. "Still on The Throne" happened through intercessory prayer on behalf of a missing child bulletin. While waiting, in a bank drive-through line , "prayer was being sought" I believe The Lord wanted this the entire day set aside for children, particular runaways and asked who will pray on their behalf. When "this" happens it's a transition of one heart to conform to that of Christ. I asked The Lord why my spirit moaned? I noticed the grocery bag on my car seat it read: MISSING: Shoniqua Smith - (Endangered Runaway)weight/height/DOB nickname: "Nee Nee". "Intercessory prayer" began for Nee Nee, her well being, her safe return home, a safe home to return to. Intercessors pray with God in His Spirit and they understand that Jesus has all authority. I recall hearing these words, "I see, I know,I am in control "Still on The Throne". I still have this grocery bag and I still pray for Nee Nee. I met Chris Northan at WebMusic Studios. Chris had developed this phat track, urban and anointedly fresh. "That's Nee Nee I said, she and others like her, God's still on the throne for her." One vocal recording that same night, one question asked, who will pray?
