Story behind the song
I wrote this back in 2001. The lyrical inspiration for this track was the daughter of one of my mother's friends. She was a lovely girl, but sadly was heading for a fall. She'd been through a lot and I felt very sorry for her. What I could never say to this poor girl in spoken words, I put into this song. Vocal duties for this track are courtesy of my friend Emily Martin, who is also a long-time collaborator with me on various musical projects. So, if you're reading this then, hi! :)
