Joetry

Joao Cabral was born June 10, 1987 in Santa Maria, Açores (Portugal). At the young age of 2, his family moved to Ottawa, Ontario (Canada) to pursue a better quality of life, education etc..... Joao discovered his love for music shortly after. Always being recognized as the entertainer, Joao initiates and introduces himself to the sounds of music and the industry while his parents, brother, sister, friends and others were very supportive along the way. Joao dived into the music scene, not knowing what to expect but soon after, met various local artists such as FLO, YAO and many more whom shared the same passion for music. It was official, Joao was now better known as Joetry due to his forte in poetry and the intelligence of his words. Joetry attempted to come together with T.AnnA, a great local female singer of RnB and Hip Hop to form the duo called RAPture. After several struggles, the idea folded shortly after and was never really set off. Now, Joetry works with artists and producers such as YAO, FLO, Erupt, Casper, Crucial G, T.AnnA, Boney Bone, BK Brooklyn, PaperBoy and many more. Since then, it's been nothing but positive and beneficial productions from Joetry and his right hand team. Come 2005, the pieces of the puzzle were coming together, Joetry's hard work and dedication was bringing him many opportunities to display what he has to offer to the nation's capital music scene and that's never to be heard flavour into music while thriving to pay respect to not only himself but the people that make Joetry possible. Joao hopes to one day, join the already respected portuguese artists that have made their mark in the music industry, those artists being Shawn Desman, Nelly Furtado, Keisha Chante and Sean Paul.
