He produces all of the music, performs the majority of the vocals (due to feature appearances), and even adds a musician’s touch by playing guitar riffs to compliment some of his tracks. After a stint with the crew thing, HXN decided to take matters into his own hands by going solo. He released his debut album, “The Hi-Priest”, and started a buzz with it in early 2004. Receiving airplay on underground and college radio across the US and in Canada, including internet radio such as Scrub Radio and Myspace, the album combined elements of electronica, hip-hop, and rock that resulted in a type of style different in many ways. Songs like ‘No. 1 Sinner’, and ‘Prayin’ Mantis Style’, which reached #2 on BUZZRadio's Top 30 chart, flash the hard-ass vibe listeners can appreciate. He further improved his resume by landing 2 soundtrack spots in the Substance Production film, “The Writing on the Wall: The Real American Graffiti”, a documentary depicting the relationship between hip-hop culture and the graffiti arts. HXN has stained the underground rap scene with an appetite for more, performing at spots all over the Chicago scene.
