Story behind the song
Judith is a member of our Youth Fellowship. She fell very sick one day and was admitted to the hospital. Within a few days, she was almost paralyzed as the bacteria had penetrated her brain. When I first heard the news, I immediately called our Youth Leader, Kelvin Lee to mobilize his youth to pray and fast as Judith's life would depend on it. The youth fasted and prayed like they never did before. Her condition was very serious. At one of the nights, her mother told me she was gasping for breath. Miraculously, Judith recovered . I believe the healing came because of the intensity of our prayers. When she first came back to church several weeks after her sickness, she was still on a wheel chair with a catheter. She could not walk nor control her urination but yet wanted to be in the church worship. The Holy Spirit immediately spoke to me that day and said "She will dance one day. Honor her with a song because of her incredible faith". What a tall order from the Holy Spirit. I struggled to write this song for almost 6 months, having the concept but not the flow. A few months after she came back to church, Judith shared her testimony of healing. At the end of her testimony, she shared that she will one day dance for God. What a confirmation it was from the Holy Spirit. This song finally came nearly 6 months after she came back to church on a wheel chair.
Lyrics
Verse 1 The doctors said, They'd done their best Yet she struggled for her breath The nights were long as she struggled in pain She could barely move her hands It was like a living nightmare, We wished it were not real But we kept our faith, We bowed our heads And sought a God of grace Chorus:- It is by Your grace and healing power In You, we stand secure She walks, She talks She laughs, She smiles, She sings It is by Your grace and healing power In You, we stand secure She lifts her hands She moves her feet to dance Verse 2 She laid in bed, and she struggled to speak Her whispers were soft and faint The girl we knew, once joyful and sweet Could barely move her feet It was like a living nightmare, We wish it were not real But we kept our faith, We bowed
