Story behind the song
I have always been against even the thought of someone deciding over another, as to whether that person should live or die... especially a small defenseless baby, who has no possible way of fighting for their own freedom; their own rights; their own life!! I wrote this song to create a vision; a "story" in the listeners mind... to help put the listener right into that situation of a baby being aborted; to feel the pain; to see how that child could have flourished in society... to "wake up" people to stand in the gap for this human being, and quit turning away!!
Lyrics
THOSE LITTLE HANDS I felt a fearful pain as I went inside But I had to see with my own eyes This tragedy that keeps on going on And when I looked in through a doorway there I fell into a deep despair Cause another terrible deed had just been done There was a little boy lying quiet and still No sign of life could I see But as I looked on this child There were two things that stood out to me Chorus: Those little hands… They could have been the hands of a father Or have been used to lift up another Whenever he was down And those little hands They could have wiped the tears of a small one Pushed their swing when they were having fun I could see these things, in those little hands As I looked at this child, so bruised and burned I thought of those, who for a child they yearned They would have gladly taken this child as their own There must be something wrong with the world we share They keep on dying, but not many really care Stand up and fight for their right, before another one’s gone There are so many who choose to stay away Afraid to be treated unkind But if they could see this boy I think they’ld change their minds Chorus: Those little hands They could have been the strength for the elderly Showed them love and sincerity Whenever they were down And those little hands They could have lifted praise to the Son of man Or even led a friend to His saving plan I could see these thing, in those little hands Copyright ã 1987 Marty Miller
