Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at my Soundclick page. This is my 15 minutes, Warhol was right! I have signed up to Routenote in order to get my songs onto Spotify and Itunes. I've cherry-picked my favourite songs and made them into a compliation called "Recorded Music (home & away)". These pages will be going live in the next four to six weeks. I was going to delete my Soundclick page but thought I'd leave these few songs that haven't made the compilation on here. Including cover versions and songs I'm not quite so happy with these days. I will provide links as soon as they become available.

Story behind the song
From my first album Elise. Recorded late 2000 and early 2001. Produced by Martin Fisher at his studio in Islington. Martin programmed all of the drums on this album.

Here's where the self-pity and self indulgence get turned up to 11.

I worship Joni Mitchell, she's one of my biggest musical heros, she posseses the talent to be able to carry off a confessional, soul-bearing ballad without bordering on maudlin introspection.

It's a lofty target to even attempt emulating and here's my particular failure to do so. The piano part, need I say, is heavily influenced by her songs from the Blue album. I asked my friend Gavin Whitlock to contribute the alto-sax; of his own volition he also came up with a string part, which Martin worked on to finish the arrangement you hear here.
