What makes this group so unique, is their thirst for self-enlightenment and their humbleness, realness, and respect towards life. So their sound hits the ears of many listeners around the world, old and young. Nowledge Of Self is what the world of music has been crying out for. They connected in 96 and it’s been nothing but expression of love for HipHop after that. They use the name Nowledge Of Self for the simple fact that you cannot live, speak, or teach through rap without having Nowledge Of Self. It is the very foundation behind their lyrics and beats, and is manifested in every song. This is definitely the next stage in HipHop and music as a whole. Band Members: Seif - Seif is 20 years of age and originally from Amityville, Long Island. Being surrounded by HipHop at an early age, he started getting into HipHop music at the age of 8. With musical influences of Grand Puba, Das Efexs, De La Soul, OutKast, Tribe Called Quest, John Coltrane, and many other jazz greats, Seif was deeply rooted into the HipHop, jazz,and soul culture. Even as a youngster, he took the art very seriously. Being raised in the suburbs and having 2 strong parents by his side, he didn’t rap about the cliche topics of the rap world. His personality was always that of a positive one. Thus his lyrics today only motivate and send messages to stimulate the thinker in a crowd (even if the message is to forget about a message and just listen). Seif definitely has a lot to say to the HipHop world and to "ALL" human beings of the world for that matter. Black R.O.S.E. - (Redefining One’s Self Exsistence) A 22 year old wise man fed up with ignorance and bad music. He plans to take HipHop to another level with true to the heart rhymes and funky melodic soulful tracks. It's not just about rap to him as he says in one of his rhymes "F**k rap I’m living for Khalil". (Khalil is his baby nephew). It's all about the future to him. He's a southern bred - down to earth - take no mess type of cat, and he's definitely going to take his toll on the world. Through funky production and street savvy lyrics he brings Nowledge Of Self full circle. IL'Logic - Reggie (IL'Logic) is 23 years of age and is originally from Fayetteville, North Carolina. Reggie was influenced by music early on by his father and big sister's singing careers. Also his uncle toured the country in a Rhythm and Blues band, and always played around Reggie. Reggie always had a love and ear for good music, whether it was Jazz, Blues, Funk, or HipHop. Some of his influences are , Tribe Called Quest, Stevie Wonder, De La Soul, OutKast, and many other soulful bands. His lyrics reflect that soul and love he has for music, with down to earth, catchy words that stick in your brain and bless the track. He's an emcee for the average everyday person.
