simple song writing demos, country
No band these days... just a writer recording my own demo's.

Precious Moments ©2002 Dawn Kenealy
"Daddy, look what I caught", and she opens up her hands.
A cricket jumps and lands right on my cheek.
We laugh so hard we fall down, and we're lying on the grass.
And I know there's no place I would rather be.
Precious moments, tender years.
Kissing boo-boos, and drying little tears.
Bedtime stories, tickle time.
Saving every precious moment in my mind.
Oh those precious moments.
First day of school, and she's hugging on my leg,
And I know I'm gonna have to walk away.
One last kiss goodbye, I'm trying so hard not to cry.
And she calmly whispers "Daddy, I'm okay."
Precious moments, tender years.
Kissing boo-boos, and drying little tears.
Bedtime stories, tickle time.
Saving every precious moment in my mind.
Oh those precious moments.
Time flies by so quickly, and we're walking down the aisle.
As I give my girl away, I'm crying with a smile.
Precious moments, tender years.
Kissing boo-boos, and drying little tears.
Bedtime stories, tickle time.
Saving every precious moment in my mind.
Oh those precious moments.
Those precious moments. Precious moments.
This is a really touching song about being a parent and watching a child grow up year by year. I especially felt the second verse - Being a nervous child beyond belief, I cried many, many tears whenever being dropped off at school. I knew it must have torn my parents apart. Great song, Dawn.
