Story behind the song
This is a rough sloppy demo of the main parts of this song. Its not the full or correct arrangement, has missing and wrong lyrics but recorded it to accomplish these things. 1)Test how bass line idea fits together with main guitar rhythm riff on verses. 2)Test if this kinda drum beat would work on the song. 3)Test having and intro solo and a good length for main guitar solo to be. 4)Test a set of lyrics i had previously wrote would fit this song. Those lyrics were originally was titled "Ice Winter(I Had Enough)" but at the time had no idea of music for it. 5)To serve as reference when working on the song further.
Recorded this a few years ago on old powermac 8600 (300 mhz 4 gig hd, 160 mbytes ram). On average, had 200-300 mbytes free hd space to work with when starting and had to leave enough space so I could mix down to single aiff and then convert to a mp3 before trashing all the working files and start recording something else.
Used the computer mic(low quality) for micing guitar amps and vocals. Bass: was an electric guitar eq'ed and pitched shifted to sound like bass guitar Drum track was a midi file I made from scratch(which does sound fake and cheesy). Some light delay effect on vocals and lead guitar track.
Software used is protools free which is the freeware 8 track (feature limited) version with mac os 8.6. Guitar used was a aria Pro II ct series strat shaped with dual humb, coil spits, floyd trem. Amp was tech 21 trademark 10.
