Lyrics
The Death of a Dream Copyright 2005 Russell Womack I said "I'm the good guy kid, don't you know a friendly face when you see one? So dry your eyes, we've got to get out of here, this place is coming down by the second". I'm never mistaken for Captain America. I don't feel much like a hero anymore. I've hurt more people than I've saved and thats for sure, maybe it's time for me to hang up my tights, cause I don't feel much like a hero anymore. I'm brash and arrogant and the time I've spent in the danger room has taught me my social skills, it's also taught me how to deal with the rejection of my friends even though I've saved their lives so many times. They need me now but it's hard to see through this dark cloud. And i'm not so sure the Professor would be proud. I can't promise I will save you, but I promise I will try. I should learn a thing or two from Uncle Anakin about the path of fear and anger and where it's gotten him. I could go and have a drink with old pal Logan and talk about the girls he's loved and how he hated their boyfriends. And every man I've killed, and every dumb theme song, and everything I've done to try and right my wrongs, and every single scar and repressed memory and every girl I've hurt and how they think I'm a disease.
