This song is about dying the way you want to die, not leaving it up to fate, but up to yourself.
neurotic regression
Raw and melodic heavy metal out of BC, Oregon.
Neurotic Regression, a band out of Baker City, Oregon has a somewhat strange past. Starting out as only a drummer and bass player, they found the most unlikely guitar player, the drummer's dad. Their CD Rise is very colorful, with the drummer pulling quadruple duty, writing the lyrics, providing the death metal vocals, "some" clean vocals, keyboards, and drumming. The guitar player also pulls triple duty, being the sound engineer, clean vocalist for most of the songs, and guitar player. And who could forget the bass player? That's what he does, but he's good at it!

Lyrics
Lost deep inside, my world crashes down My soul left in ruin, I slip away I slip away into eternity I close my eyes and drift from myself Hoping I'll find the key to salvation No way out, there's nothing for me now A silent scream within a dream Banished mind ignites the will to blame My life will be the death of me I drift away into oblivion Broken eyes, I am forever blind Devoid of any harmony Lingered pain consumes the pieces What's left is but a lifetime of misery Save my soul Wisdom decays until all hope is gone My mind's constant struggle left me all alone So my pain completes the circle Denial foresees salvation's end The winds of change keep tearing at my face I feel the structure start to bend And sway under me, sweet serenity It's left me, there's nothing more for me The foundation's about to break A thousand smiles spread across the face of madness, my life its about to take Words I've found reflect from deafened ears They've all turned their backs on me I am now a distant memory The afterlife is beckoning me To leave, fly away, into eternity I drift away, fade to nothing
