Story behind the song
I was motivated to write this song back in high school when i felt left behind by a person i won't name. I like the song because it's such a song thing to sing about but the music is almost uplifting. I like the contrast.
Lyrics
Stella wasn't much on words she tried to leave without saying goodbye caught the first train for the coast without ever telling me why I know she loves me and i believe that it's true so why did she have to leave me and make me feel blue it's the part of the reason that makes you fall head over feet she never planned to stick around and finish what we once found true Chorus: It's just another sad feeling you'll know 'till the end when she leaves and never comes back again It's only worth as much much as she read into it not as much as you gave into it it's just another sad song I gave it all in a letter i wrote addressed from one of my good old friends I left my town a week ago and bought myself a Mercedes Benz Bobbie McGhee was never good to me and Peggy Sue she never knew what to do they hitched a greyhound bus to Baltimore before i got home at four But i always figured Stella was a little different I thought she would always stay But now i know the truth in it all we couldn't live the life we led CHORUS It's been three years since i last saw you heard you had gone and found someone new I hope you like it with the man that you think you love 'cause soon you'll get what's coming to you CHORUS
