A love song that features some of my 'incredible' mandolin playing.
Simple folk.
Well it's not really a band, it's just me. Whenever I have a song that wont work for my rock band, I record the guitar, vocals, whatever else on my computer.
Story behind the song
I can't remember why I wrote this song, but I do remember getting up in the middle of the night to write down the first few verses (maybe something in a dream?)
Lyrics
You sing a melody so sweet it nearly swep me off my feet. Your voice flows all through the air. When you're nearby my heart starts to race, maybe it's that pretty smile on your face. When you're nearby I don't have any cares.
You won't let me love you, but may I still listen to your song?
You say you need to move on, need to be movin' along, but it hurts to be left behind. I know that you can't stay and there's nothing that I could say that could make you change your mind.
You won't let me love you, but may I still listen to your song?
My I just sit down a while and listen, maybe know what I'll be missin', though it won't be in vain.
Babe you need not be alarmed, I don't think you could ever cause me harm, I don't think you could ever cause me pain.
You won't let me love you, but may I still listen to your song?
I know it's not my time, maybe someday you'll be mine. Maybe I'll be left here all alone.
Fate will deal its card and I know it'll be hard when I have to let you go.
You won't let me love you, but may I still listen to your song?
