God is at work in all of our lives. He scrubs, smoothes and polishes the rough edges until we shine for Him in a way we never thought possible. May His light shine through us!

Rock
Most of my songs are written in a melodic/acoustic style of Folk Rock. All are written to glorify God - you know, ... the One who made me and you?
If you stop to listen for a while, my hope is that you'll leave with something a little out of the ordinary to think about.
If you do go with a fresh perspective on Christianity and who God really is, then my job is done!
Bless you much for stopping by ...
Story behind the song
The material for this song was taken from a sermon given by our pastor that really made sense to me.
The first verse describes my life as it used to be. The second verse is me right now and the third verse is what I hope to become ... given enough time.
Of course, the Holy Spirit was the inspiration for the song.
Special thanks to my friend, Daniel Beck. Dan, your Bass and Lead Guitar input is invaluable because it gives our songs a unique sound.
We make a great team - 'Barefoot and Rubber Fingers'.
Lyrics
Verse 1:
Show me who I am, my life is at a low
I am but a small child, my frailty you know
In the darkness I have visions, of things no longer there
My life, is in tatters, my soul, is laid bare
Verse 2:
More than I imagine, I find my worth in You
Loving me, anyway, despite what I might do
God, You are the craftsman, and I am just a stone
Do Your work in me Lord, wherever I may roam
Chorus:
And, Your Word's a welcome light
For, this restless heart of mine,
Come, with your gentle hands
To clear away the grime
And let Your light come shining in
I am a gemstone in the rough
So let Your light come shining in
Because you are the Master,
Jeweller for my soul
You smooth away the flaws to make me whole
Oh, you smooth away the flaws to make me whole
Verse 3:
Let me hear your voice Lord, no matter for the cost
All I have to offer, is a soul that once was lost
Content in every season, I have one thing to ask
To see the world through Your eyes,
Lord, please remove the mask
Because, Your Word's a welcome light
For, this restless heart of mine,
Come, with your gentle hands
To clear away the grime
And let Your light come shining in
I am a gemstone in the rough
So let Your light come shining in
Because you are the Master,
Jeweller for my soul
You smooth away the flaws to make me whole
Oh, you smooth away the flaws to make me whole
Bridge:
And I know, that You care
You did not leave me standing there
Yes, I know, that You care
Because; You did not leave me standing there
And let Your light come shining in
I am a gemstone in the rough
So let Your light come shining in
Because you are the Master,
Jeweller for my soul
You smooth away the flaws, to make me whole
And let Your light come shining in
I am a gemstone in the rough
So let Your light come shining in
Because you are the Master,
Jeweller for my soul
You smooth away the flaws to make me whole
You smooth away the flaws to make me whole
Oh, you smooth away the flaws; to make me whole
And let Your light come shining in
I am a gemstone in the rough
And let Your light come shining in
I am a gemstone in the rough
