Ahhhhh.... obssesive love and numbing regret. Smoothy-smooth keys from Tom Haynes; liltingly-dark...

Heavy-handed acoustic guitar rock, with shades of John Hiatt-esque vocals (I've been told).
Hullo Folks, Just beginning to cobble this page together, so bear with me. Being a lyric-lover, I attempt to put as much thought into that portion of tunage as musical arrangements. Judge for yourself if that is successful or not. ;o) I think you'll find most of my songs to be of an "Americana" type in general flow. I do like songs with forward momentum, but an occasional ballad will sneak in from time to time. Working on album #2 (Strange Spaces) in slow stages, but we'll get there! Mo' later...

Story behind the song
A side-note perhaps... Sometimes a song isn't necessarily "all singer". This one's a case in point. I feel that the open-ness of the musical simplicity gives it a compelling elegance that would actually be marred by too much verbiage and singing going on. As you can see, it's structure is rather unheard of: one "verse" and two "choruses". That's all I felt the mood of the song really "needed", and it allows Tom's layered keys to shimmer and undulate in a music-box-like melancholy. I also enjoyed picking up different guitars, simply for the sake of the colors they generated. Personnel: Ozone Pete: Vocal, guitars, bass Tom Haynes: Piano and synth keys Jim Fogarty: Drums
Lyrics
(Just) All & Everything In a starlit room, In the gathering twilight gloom, I stand undone Hope has faded; love has flown. But I'm still here, Nothing's left where there once were tears; I'm standing numb; Hope is silent; love is gone. Some far-off day In the spin of a world away, I'll hear your voice, And again feel the sting... 'Til then, I'll remain, At a distance from joy and pain, For to me, you're just all and everything... Was love my sin? You said it's what you were drowning in; As time rolls on, Perhaps I'll know what you mean... 'Til then I'll remain, At a distance from joy and pain, For to me, you're just all and everything...
