This song is a somewhat latin/calypso flavored song, and sounds quite "pop" on the surface, yet it goes far beyond hormonal impulses. How far is up to your willingness to see.

SKySWiM is the core project name for all musical work by Arnie Stanton. Arnie Stanton has been very involved in creating an eclectic musical blend of classical, electronic, rock, jazz, and other styles. Because of his wide musical background from training and listening, he tends to not stay long with one particular sound, mood, or feel. Arnie creates music meant to evoke deep emotions and strong visual imagery. His lyrics have spiritual overtones, sometimes comforting, but more often, challenging and ominous. He plays trombone, keyboards, sings, and usually talks in the first person, rather than third person tense, as he is doing here. :-) His base of operations is in Torrance, California. The official SKySWiM web page is .

Story behind the song
This song began as a humorous attempt at writing in a Latin style, something neither Duane nor myself did before. We were so surprised at the results, that we ended up cleaning up the initial sketch a bit, which gave it a bit of a Calypso flavoring. This is probably my most "pop" and "happy-go-lucky" song so far. Yet, many of those who are sensitive to my style and details still hear my more typical dark and foreboding style lurking even here, though it is not as obvious. The main difference between this version and the original that Duane sang lead in, is that I adjusted some of the lyrics so that they would be more open to double meanings. I would have been disappointed if this song was only about the results of hormones.
Lyrics
You've been sitting there with yourself Like you're in another world And I've been waiting here patiently But you haven't said a word One sentence, one motion, eye contact Would let me know that you're alive But you've set this wall against our hope "That's all" And left me on the outside I was thinking of another way to say goodbye And it seems you never ever want to bother with The Reason Why While you're thinkin' of defenses Withholding all the truth We could be so good together So tell me what's the use Let's get in touch (ooh, ooh) Talk it out, think it out and then we'll know what it's all about In touch (ooh, ooh) We'll see eye to eye, and heart to heart Before, we glided through happiness But now it seems those days are past Should I pretend like nothings wrong When our trouble is so vast? One question, one answer, ONE SMILE Would make things right and simply change our plight But you've set this wall between our love "That's all" And left me in the twilight Do you ever feel the pressure of being all alone Are you thinkin' of a problem That you cannot solve on your own? Do you really wanna let go and throw it all away? There is nothing that I can do But there is one thing I can say: Let's stay in touch (ooh, ooh) Talk it out, think it out Then we'll know what it's all about In touch (ooh, ooh) Let's get serious, delirious, the truth is not mysterious Don't you let somebody tell you that you're not worth the wait Just try to live your life in a positive mental state Don't you know that I'm behind you We'll make it all the way Nothin's ever gonna happen If we don't start today Let's keep in...touch
