This semi-satirical song is a protest against big business trying to sneak more and more into our personal lives.

SKySWiM is the core project name for all musical work by Arnie Stanton. Arnie Stanton has been very involved in creating an eclectic musical blend of classical, electronic, rock, jazz, and other styles. Because of his wide musical background from training and listening, he tends to not stay long with one particular sound, mood, or feel. Arnie creates music meant to evoke deep emotions and strong visual imagery. His lyrics have spiritual overtones, sometimes comforting, but more often, challenging and ominous. He plays trombone, keyboards, sings, and usually talks in the first person, rather than third person tense, as he is doing here. :-) His base of operations is in Torrance, California. The official SKySWiM web page is .

Story behind the song
This was a quickly written song, in which the writing and recording of it took probably less than 2 or 3 hours total. The song was basically a response to all the "mini-mall" shopping centers popping up just about everywhere here in the Los Angeles area back in the early 1990's. Such stores seemed to bring shopping and all the greed behind such things almost right to our own homes. Of course with the internet, the "mini-mall" invasion continues... And some people think it would be cool to hook computer chips directly to our brains. Big Business and Big Brother never dreamed of such power!
Lyrics
All we saw was plastic smiles And all the white tiles For miles and miles The day I mauled a Mini-Mall The day I mauled a Mini-Mall I wore a big white coat And big white gloves To hide me from the claws Of the evil Mini-Mall Mini-mini-mini-mini-mini-mini-mini-mini-mini-Mall Let's go maul the Mini-Mall Before they build into our homes And life won't exist beyond our own halls Our own halls Mini-Mall, Mini-Mall Another excuse to build a wall We build a wall But ignore the beggar outside We need to build up love And keep them inside These walls Build up love (4x) Tear down the Mini-Mall Tear down the Mini-Malls Tear down the Mini-Mall
