This is about the "romantisist" emotions one feels due to love lost. A flicker of dim hope keeps the search on to find love once again from the same particular person.

Story behind the song
Some Yesterday started out as a humorous set of digital sample manipulations. It did not take long for me to hear and try and bring out a kind of hauntingly beautiful meloncholy sound found in the sketch. The song centers on the "dysfunctional" obsession upon "love lost," especially when one had made that "love" their highest purpose and desire in their life. In case the lady whose voice was used in the original sketch samples reads this, you are not the "love lost" in my life, but she was someone earlier in my life. Listen for the sound I try to evoke of the lighthouse foghorn next to the old "Marineland" site in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
Lyrics
If my arms could reach beyond horizon, She would be further away, still. To share the blue haze of an afternoon sky, To run the greener grass. To have all of my wants, yet wanting much more, Was the mermaid I searched for warned of my presence? Must her shadow flee with the morning's sunrise? A Million of your sentences Cannot cure my care for you. Your smile hides your fury, and your silence fuels this pain inside. Your eyes told tales that I yearned to live Some Yesterday. Did I miss all of my chances. Will someone warm these dark depths in my life? Now that she told me she had "new life," Would her message still be the same? A time spent here overlooking the future, Wishing dreams come true. To escape these four grey walls, And touch the undone fire. Is it her will to be anchored to a slave, To ribbon was not meant to be there? A Million of your sentences... Will someone tell me where she is this day?
