This song is basically about "the devil" in the form of a dysfunctional relationship, making a last ditch effort to keep someone in his "family" that is trying to leave.

SKySWiM is the core project name for all musical work by Arnie Stanton. Arnie Stanton has been very involved in creating an eclectic musical blend of classical, electronic, rock, jazz, and other styles. Because of his wide musical background from training and listening, he tends to not stay long with one particular sound, mood, or feel. Arnie creates music meant to evoke deep emotions and strong visual imagery. His lyrics have spiritual overtones, sometimes comforting, but more often, challenging and ominous. He plays trombone, keyboards, sings, and usually talks in the first person, rather than third person tense, as he is doing here. :-) His base of operations is in Torrance, California. The official SKySWiM web page is .

Story behind the song
The chords for the chorus came to me a long time ago, probably around 1979. The words had to wait to be written in 1987. Song is a somewhat humorous attempt (at least to me) to portray how ridiculous it is to hold onto a very bad relationship with someone else, something most have experienced at least once in our lives, and to various degrees.
Lyrics
This city has a way to lose you in it's wake It's not too late, now to make a wish Another summer, of pretty glitter You can drink the water go on, it's not too bitter Attachments! All we want is no Attachments! No Guiding Light to see us through the night! Attachments One love: the idea, it seems so really nice So open up, and say what's on your mind Your life, is so intertwined with mine We're such a bomb waiting to explode We've known each other for so very long It seems ironic I have to sing this song How can I tell ya, ooh just how I feel You can't convince me your doubt, that it ain't real Your life is so intertwined with mine we're such a bomb waiting to explode Another summer, of pretty glitter You can drink the water go on, it's not too bitter
