Ocho Rios is known as the tourist capital of Jamaica, and will soon be known as the home town of G Cole. Born Gregory Cole on July 12th in Ocho Rios Jamaica, G Cole is the youngest of four boys. His mother being a hotel manager had him around the hotel and Cabaret music circuit since the age of four, where he fell in love with live music and performance. He also spent a lot of time listening to his father’s record collection, which included many influential greats such as Stevie Wonder and Al Green. He also credits Beres Hammond, Maxi Priest, Gregory Isaacs, and Dennis Brown as major influences. G Cole moved to Florida intending to study law, though he has not completely ruled it out, he is currently focused on his music. He has just completed his debut album with JahGydeYah Records producer Steven “Purpose” Chung, entitled “This Music Vol 1. Return to Vintage”. Expect a musical gumbo on this record, as it reflects his influences of Reggae, R&B, Jazz, and Gospel. This album is sure to give you an insight into the life and times of G Cole, as he invites you to take a walk with him and see life through the eyes of who he refers to as “still the kid from 26 Mansfield Green. The album singles include: “Favorite Ones,” “Rasta Girl,” & “Sail Away.” While G Cole’s music addresses heavy topics such as crime, poverty, and politics, it manages to remain jovial, and in essence is feel good music. His music also speaks volumes about relationships and love, music the ladies will appreciate. When asked why love is such a reoccurring theme in his music, he is quoted saying “hurt and pain are things I’m familiar with, social injustice is something I learnt of, and growing up in a mixed society, class indifference, and problems are things I’ve seen, but when it comes down to it, love is all I really know”. G Cole, has been making great strides in becoming a household name. He has been wowing audiences across the United States with his live performances, sharing the stage with artists such as Ziggy, Stephen, & Damian Marley, Gentleman, Byron Lee and the Dragoneers, Sizzla, Capleton, Etana, Jill Scott, Diana Ross, Billy Ocean, Hugh Masekela, etc. Meanwhile his music has been getting great reception from reggae fans in Europe, especially Germany, Holland, and the U.K. With a debut album that’s worthy of joining any music lover’s CD collection, there is no doubt that G Cole’s voice will be around for a long time. And with, “Favorite Ones,” being well received by reggae lovers worldwide, listen for G Cole coming through your radio, and to a stage near you. www.myspace.com/gcole1 www.jahgydeyah.com For booking: 754-368-5259 jhonagre@gmail.com
