Story behind the song
We wrote this song because the new music is straying so far away from what good music used to be. "We've lost the outlaws, but not their songs."
Lyrics
Remember back, when I was a kid i watched the Duke boys on Friday night, To catch a glimpse of Waylon's black and white guitar, maybe see a good ol' fight. I sat by my dad's radio just to hear that man in black, You know I'd give anything, just to have them back. We've lost the outlaws, it's just not the same. These boys bands put together ought to be ashamed We've lost the outlaws, but not their songs. I said what comes around always goes around it won't be long. SOmetimes when i'm down, i look back at the good ol' days, It seems like it's been way too long since Hank Williams helped pave the way. Outlaw country's comin' back, just you wait and see, Because the Renegade Boy's gonna give it a try, Won't you ride with me? We've lost the outlaws, it's just not the same, These boy bands put together ought to be ashamed. We've lost the outlaws, but not their songs, I said what comes around always goes around it won't be long.
