This song tells us who our real Heroes should be... instead of idolizing a sports star, people should recognize all that our troops do for us while fighting across the seas.

Story behind the song
While driving home, Mike heard a sports announcer telling of how a kid called a baseball player his hero. He pulled over to the side of the road and wrote this song because in the media, our troops aren't getting enough recognition. Instead, kids are looking to stars and sports players as heroes.
Lyrics
We sere sittin' in the back, we could barely see, When he swung that baseball bat, and hit the ball to me, Well i gave it to my son, as he raised up his head, He said "I think he's my hero," then i looked at him and said, Boy you've gotta watch who you call hero, Hero's not just any kind of name. Heroes risk their lives for our freedom, So that you and I can watch this baseball game. You could tell his mind was racing as he sat there. What I'd said was really sinkin in. Now I think he understands the meaning, And i won't have to tell him again. Boy you've gotta watch who you call hero. Hero's not just any kind of name. Heroes' risk their lives for our freedom, So that you and I can live here just the same. Well the years have passed my son's across the water. Fightin for our country on this day. God please let him know, that he's my hero. And I don't call just anyone that name. Boy you've gotta watch who you call hero. Hero's not just any kind of name. Heroes' risk their lives for our freedom, So that you and i can live here just the same. Boy you've gotta watch who you call hero.
