Story behind the song
Sanctuary came after meditating on Psalm 73 in the Message. When we choose to focus on ourselves and our circumstances, and the things in this world, the result is discontent and bitterness. God is always good, yet we miss seeing His goodness when we look only at ourselves. Choosing to enter His presence and to focus our attention on Him makes all the difference in the world. Suddenly His goodness, mercy, and beauty fill our vision and it makes all the difference. I long to stay in that perfect place, His presence, where all I see is Him. (Catherine) written on Valentine's day
Lyrics
Sanctuary (Psalm 73) Oh how I miss Your goodness When I choose to walk away And let bitterness consume me Living only for Today But when I walk into Your presence All the dark thoughts disappear Your goodness overwhelms me Replacing all my fears Your beauty fills my vision Your mercy soothes my soul You are my Sanctuary You come and make me whole You¡¦re all I want in heaven You¡¦re all I want on earth Oh Lord I need Your presence In You I am secure „¶ February 14, 2004 Reflect Music Catherine Lovett
