Story behind the song
I Long for You (Psalm 42, 63) I believe there are deep longings within each one of our spirits for intimacy with God. Some of us ignore it, some of us fight it, and the most blessed among us yield to it. God is also longing. The Bible says that the Spirit longs jealously over us (James 4). He longs for us! God longs for you! He desires to share intimacies with us. As recorded in Matthew 11:27 Jesus says, “The Father has given me all these things to do and say. This is a unique Father-Son operation, coming out of Father and Son intimacies and knowledge. No one knows the Son the way the Father does, and no one knows the Father the way the Son does. But I’m not keeping it to myself; I’m ready to go over it line by line with anyone who will listen.” (Message) May we have ears to listen. “Through each day the LORD pours his unfailing love upon me, and through each night I sing his songs, praying to God who gives me life.” (Psalm 42) (Daniel, Catherine)
