Classic acoustic songwriting meets multilayered progressive rock.
Based in Liverpool (UK) The Neil Campbell Collective is an acoustic rock band whose music is characterised by long progressive compositions, lyrical vocals, lush vocal harmonies, classical guitar (often electronically processed with looping, fast delay lines and morphing kaoss pad textures), a powerful, versatile, and often virtuoso, rhythm section (powered by drummer Mark Brocklesby and bassist Paul Reay), and the lyrical contributions of cellist Nicole Austin. In May 2005 they released their debut album '3 O'Clock Sky', of which reviewers said: 'Polished progressive rock...Neil Campbell's guitar playing is exemplary and at times beautiful' (Live Magazine (Liverpool), June 2005) 'Musicianship of the highest order...plenty of fine percussion (Mark Brocklesby)' (Classic Rock Society, June 2005) 'Catchy melodies, strong harmony vocals, carefully crafted structures...this is an album that just grows and grows with each listening.' (Dutch Progressive Rock Pages, www.dprp.net) 'Eight tracks of thoughtful, well arranged songs...There are touching moments, beauty and melody here.' (Liverpool Daily Post, June 24th 2005)

Story behind the song
This song is such a stormer when played live. It has evolved from being a piece for solo guitar to a full blown band epic. What does it mean?...that is the question we all ask...
Lyrics
How easy is it to fake your biography How easy is it to make your pornography without a cast or crew How easy is it to edit it all out How easy is it to credit your self-doubt as something bright and new How easy is it saying something new How easy is it playing something blue and meaning it this time How easy is it pretending that it's real How easy is it defending what you feel - condemning it to rhyme There's been a rainstorm, rainstorm in her head... How easy is it to not give a shit About the places that you feel you fit - the why or the when How easy is it to pay out your dues How easy is it to lay down your blues and start living again There's been a rainstorm, rainstorm in her head...
