Mulberry Bend is a spot on the last natural stretch of the Missouri River. It's beautiful and relatively undiscovered. My friend Dennis Nelsen and I go up there a lot to play music and watch the eagles fly. It gets really dark there at night because there's nothing around for miles. The night skies are beautiful and we figure we don't know a song until we can play in pitch black darkness.
Lyrics
Mulberry Bend
[G] We're going up to Mulberry Bend
[C] Mulbery Bend? [G] Yup, Mulberry Bend.
[G] We're going up to Mulberry Bend
[D] And we won't be back [G] 'til morning.
[D] No we won't be back [G] 'til morning.
We're gonna sleep out under the stars
Under the stars? Yes, under the stars.
We gonna sleep out under the stars
and we won't be back 'til morning.
No we won't be back 'til morning.
We're gonna eat beans right out of the can.
Out of the can? Yup, out of the can.
We're gonna eat beans right out of the can.
And we won't be back 'til morning.
No we won't be back 'til morning.
We're gonna drink shine from an old tin cup.
Old tin cup? Yes, an old tin cup.
We gonna drink shine from an old tin cup
and we won't be back 'til morning.
No we won't be back 'til morning.
We're gonna eat jerk with our dirty hands.
Dirty hands? Yep, dirty hands.
We're gonna eat jerk with dirty hands.
And we won't be back 'til morning.
No we won't be back 'til morning.
I'm gonna play songs on this guitar
This guitar? Yes, this guitar.
I'm gonna play songs on this old guitar
and I won't be back 'til morning.
No we won't be back 'til morning.
We're gonna smoke some stinky cigars.
Stinky cigars? Yes, stinky cigars.
We're gonna smoke some stinky cigars.
And we won't be back 'til morning.
No we won't be back 'til morning..
And when we get home we'll sleep past noon.
Sleep past noon? Yes, sleep past noon.
When we get home we'll sleep past noon.
'we'll be a sorry site in the morning.
a sorry site in the morning.
