Waking Dream (capo 4)
[Am] I was riding through a raging storm [G] on a sunny [Am] day
When a twister came across the plains and [D7] headed straight my [Am] way
Well I jumped into the whirling wind and [G] rode it up in the [Am] sky
and when it set me on the ground I had [G] myself a [Am] cry
[Am] [G] [Am]
[Am] I felt something gently brush by [G] like a whisper on the [Am] wind.
I wasn't sure why but I opened [D7] the window and let [Am] it in.
I smelled the sweet scent of violets as [G] the sun shined down [Am] so bright.
And the coolness of blue shadows said [G] everything' is gonna be [Am] alright.
[Am] [G] [Am]
[Am] I peaked out through the window and [G] saw myself [Am] outside.
The light of truth came shining through [D7] though it was still late at [Am] night.
I saw the green of the trees [G] upon the vast hill [Am] side.
And as the waves crashed upon the shore as I spread my wings in flight.
[Am] [G] [Am]
[Am] I don't know where I'm going [D7] or how the story [Am] ends.
[G] But I knew I'd have to follow it through the moment it [Am] began.
[G] [Am]
