If you hate doing your income taxes, you can now dance to it. This is a tongue-in-cheek Canadian income tax protest done to an electronic beat.
Interests lie in 70-80s styled guitar rock and acoustic guitar.
Not a band, but learning guitar (since approx. Nov 2004)
Story behind the song
This started out being a semi-serious song writing exercise. I started with the bassline, but as the writing progressed, I started to hear voices ("I hate my income taxes"). I might be "wacked". Have a listen and you decide!
Lyrics
Chorus:
I hate my income taxes
Complicated!
I hate my income taxes
Don't need more forms
There's no way, no way out!
Verse 1:
Flat tax would be a whole lot more simpler
Now got my forms together all in one place
Got T1 General
I got my ON428
Box fourteen T4
And don't forget box two of 1024S
Enter your dividends
And hope its alright
How come my credits all go negative?
I enter zero, so they say
(Chorus)
Verse 2:
Deductions often will include these slips
RRSP and also RESP
Include T4PS
Schedules one, nine and eleven
Wife and kids at home
It was real nice of them to add that new surtax
Put federal taxes
Hope its alright
How come my taxes all go positive?
Amounts are owing, so they say
(Chorus)
(Instrumental)
(Chorus)
(Funeral music)
