One man recording the cobwebs of his mind; Shall we listen in?
One man singer-songwriter musician. Included here are songs written as far back as the late seventies, up to and including the present day. Four of the songs were recorded in the late 90's and make up an EP called Skies. Other albums include A Man Alone from 2002, and The World At Large from 2005. Since then, songs have been released singly as they've been completed. A new album is now available - Tales Of Love And Defiance (talesofloveanddefiance.com)

Story behind the song
Inspired by Paul McCartney's offhand approach to great songs hidden away as B-sides. I took a similar view and literaly knocked this song together in about half an hour. The solo is no great shakes, but I think this is one of the catchiest tunes I've ever come up with. Horns and rhythm guitar are double-tracked with a tiny bit of delay to give them depth. Buy the CD!
Lyrics
I saw you the other day walking on down the street I said hey baby, what do you say looking so goddam sweet Well you looked at my face And you looked at my hands Looked at what I was wearing Looked me over once again What would be the benefit to hitch my wagon to your star What do you have in mind before this business goes too far Can you offer any guarantee your proposition would be good for me With no chance, to summarize or reply in some detail It took me by surprise made my train of thought derail Well you looked at my face And you looked at my hands Looked at what I was wearing Looked me over once again What would be the benefit to hitch my wagon to your star What do you have in mind before this business goes too far Can you offer any guarantee your proposition would be good for me Well you looked at my face And you looked at my hands Looked at what I was wearing Looked me over once again What would be the benefit to hitch my wagon to your star What do you have in mind before this business goes too far Can you offer any guarantee your proposition would be good for me I must admit, I said to you Our merger might face some delay Looks like the deal, has fallen through And so I quickly walked away Well you looked at my face And you looked at my hands Looked at what I was wearing Looked me over once again What would be the benefit to hitch my wagon to your star What do you have in mind before this business goes too far Can you offer any guarantee your proposition would be good for me Can you offer any guarantee your proposition would be good for me
