Story behind the song
There is an amazing message about faith in 'The Gaze of the Soul', a chapter in A.W. Tozer's book 'The Pursuit of God'. Faith is something that I knew I needed more of but wasn't sure how to go about it, Tozer suggests that the answer lies in John3:14-15 and Numbers21:8-9, all we need to do is look to Jesus, the awesome Son of Man who has been lifted up for all to see. I wanted others in my church to hear this message, excited about what God would do if His church was living in faith. I also wanted the song to be a response, a declaration of God's infinite power and a statement that we're looking nowhere else.
