This is a really rough demo of a tune that I would like to re-record but I really like the melody and the lyrics so I decided to put it on here anyway. You get the idea...

Dale Haywood is a singer/songwriter from Colora, Maryland. After several cover bands and years of live gigs Dale decided to attempt recording his own songs. With the help of several friends, Dale has recorded a large catalogue of original music. His music covers everything from Country to Blues to Rock, but all of it has a heavy southern influence. Most of the recordings were created in his home studio and none of them would have been possible without the generosity and creativity of some very talented friends. Dale continues to write, record, and occasionally perform his music whenever given the opportunity.

Story behind the song
This is just one of those stories that came to me one day and I wrote it down. Completely fictional but I could see it happening to someone.
Lyrics
Ol? Pap It was one of those things I?ll never forget Me and the the boys had laid down a real good track I wanted Pap to hear, Lord I was proud Y?see, Ol? Pap never liked any of our stuff He says it all sounds like new country fluff Can?t understand the words and its too damn loud Yeah, my Pappy was raised on Hag and Jones And when it comes to music he makes no bones He says, if you can?t feel it your song ain?t done By the look on his face I knew I had it right He took down his guitar and we played all night By mornin? he said, you finally got?er, son -CHORUS- He?d say the best music is heard through the heart It?s written on your soul and can tear you apart Songs ain?t nothin? but feelin?s laid out in words If you can?t tell ?em how your fellin? you?ll never be heard -SOLO- Ol? Pap went home a few years ago I miss that ?ol man there?s a whole in my soul I can feel him, I know he?s around I play these tunes every night I thank God and Ol? Pap for gettin? me right He never left this world nothin? but his sound -CHORUS X 2-
