A very different Take This Waltz than that of Mr. Cohen
acoustic folk singer songwriter
Human being, left handed and Welsh! Occasional singer/songwriter.
Though I've played with many people in the past I seem to end up playing with myself! ... well alone anyway.

Story behind the song
The guitar part is sort of derived from The Marginot Waltz and probably something else deep in my sub concious.
Lyrics
Take this waltz take this waltz That's been playing so long and I'm tired of the same minor key Take this waltz take this waltz It just goes on and on won't you show some mercy to me I was the victim or maybe the slayer You were a dancer in search of a player and I was just someone who happened along at the time Take this waltz take this waltz now my head's in a spin and I don't want to dance anymore Take this waltz take this waltz how my whole body aches and I wish I could get to the door I was a poor man and you were a rich girl I wanted a lover, you wanted the ritual and I was just someone who happened along at the time Take this waltz take this waltz can't we have a short break to stop swaying and counting to three Take this waltz take this waltz must the torture persist how my soul just cries out to be free I was a rover who crossed many oceans You were a goddess in search of devotion I was just someone who happened along at the time Take this waltz take this waltz That's been playing so long and I'm tired of the same minor key Take this waltz take this waltz It just goes on and on won't you show some mercy to me Midnight trapped dreamers who walked in the same dream 'til it fractured and splintered like glass in the sunlight Two lonely people who happened along at one time
