I was living in Hattiesburg going to Southern Miss. I was having some success with the moon is high, and a demo I did there. I wrote this around a time when I figured out some stuff about back vocals. The song is about leaving my friends in Murfreesboro. Then leaving my friends in Hattiesburg was inevitable, so it was like a double thing.
