BRAND NEW CD!!! NOW AVAILABLE!!!! BRAND NEW!!! Pat's brand new cd is "Let The Games Begin" Pat has always loved all kinds of music, from country to big band to R&B. His recordings reflect those influences. While being predominently a pedal steel player, he also does all of the lead guitar work on his albums. Story behind the song
I met this guy back in the 60's and 70's, he used to work the boardwalk in Atlantic City, NJ. His name was Ron, and could he sing.
Lyrics
Standing on the corner I sing my songs For those who stop and listen They drop quarters in my cup When I sing one that they like to hear I know all the favorites From years gone by I've practiced them for hours I sing for nickels and for dimes And sometimes just a word of cheer My sight was gone before I was old enough To ever know my colors But, I sing of rainbows in the skys And meadows of a grassy green I paint pictures in my mind Of hometowns, backyards, birds and prisons Of lovers I have known and lost But, I have never seen Chorus: Sometimes I'd like to fly away And soar way up above the clouds Visit places far and wide And get away from these big city crowds But, I'm a prisoner in my mind Now, I've got to find some shelter from the rain But, I will pick and sing for you If you will fill my cup up with some change
