Inspired by a friend who "messed up, big time." The song is what I imagined could be going through her head after the fact--regret and desperation. I guess the person just took me by surprise, thus causing the inspiration to write a song. But in reality, the song is about me, you, everyone (Rom. 3:23), because there really is no "big time" there's just "messing up."
