"Welcome Home (To The Troops)"

Remember when Uncle Sam
Knocked on your door that day
There's this crazy man in a land
So far away
He just won't quit misbehaving
I need you to show him
What I've been saying
So you packed you gear
And left the ones that you love
It wasn't easy but then
You're a cut above
Your world was turned upside down
Now you're looking for the day
When you're homeward bound
Welcome home
So good to have you back
A minute of silence for the fallen men
Who gave their lives so freedom could win
Welcome home
You've kept freedom intact
To the men, and the women, America's young sons
3 cheers for a job well done
Welcome home Welcome back
We cried so hard
When you left for the war
But you had to go cause
Freedom's worth fighting for
We hugged for one last time
You said goodbye
Gave us a high sign
So we tied yellow ribbons
All over the trees
And we prayed dear God
Bring 'em back if you please
Now I know he's heard my prayer
Cause I can see you standing right over there
Welcome home
Thank God you made it back
A minute of silence for the fallen men
Who gave their lives so freedom could win
Welcome home
You've kept freedom intact
To the army, air force, navy, and marines
We lift our glass and begin to sing
Welcome home Welcome back
Hop on a plane and don't hesitate
Come on home cause we can't wait
Are you ready to celebrate
Welcome back to the United States
Welcome home
So glad you made it back
Let a shout go out across the land
Cause we're gonna party till we can't stand
Welcome home
There's no time to unpack
Light up a cigar buy you a drink at the bar
Show you just how thankful we are
Now that victory is ours
Welcome back welcome back
Welcome home
