Story behind the song
The impetus is to promote activism in young people, to get them involved in their communities, in helping others.
Lyrics
Golden silence warms the dawn, the village still asleep Dogs don’t bark, cats don’t purr, birds don’t even peep Yet there’s a sense a vibrant sound will fill the air The villagers will find new joy to share Chorus: And the bells ring People gathering Smile, because the day will bring Endless opportunity And they join in song And they all belong And it makes them strong This unity... community Men and women, girls and boys, each one lends a hand They have a purpose, have a plan -- compassion through the land The young will help the old, the old they young Through the power of their love, the bells are rung Chorus And the bells ring... ring, ring ring
