Story behind the song
This song accompanies a screenplay, "Flower Power," a comedy-drama. In the story, a forgotten protest singer finds new life in children's music. He writes this in honor of a homeless boy he had encountered.
Lyrics
The young boy had no home to call his own In the crowded town, he would look around And feel so all alone But when we reach out our hands And let our hands And let our love lights shine We can save the world, a little bit at a time The young girl tried to find shelter from the rain Torn shoes on her feet, nothing left to eat Can you feel her pain? When we reach out our hands And let our love lights shine We can save the world, a little bit at a time Let’s all be thankful for what we’ve got And even more thankful for what we give When we reach out our hands And let our love lights shine We can save the world, a little bit at a time Save the world, a little bit at a time.
