Melodic Death Metal from the depths of England
Buried Beneath was conceived a little over a year ago and introduced the local music scene to a new level of extremity. The new wave of extreme metal was formed by three founding members. Brother guitarists, Joel and Jordan Blake remained with long time vocalist, Simon Cleary to attempt to bring in a newer, heavier sound and more musicians. The three of them had already been working on new material and eventually decided on the new drummer. Richard Cowdry entered the line-up to play a Swindon gig and became a permanent member in the band. The recording process took place in New College studio, Swindon and Buried Beneath recorded a demo, and named it 'The Aftermath' The writing process then took off and 2 new songs were written but not recorded, 'Chaos-Bred' and live favourite 'The Unholy Demise'. The band then took a break to search for their final family member and Simon Allcorn became the new bass player. After some time away, their reputation as a fearsome live act needed to be restored and a gig at The Furnace, Swindon on the 24th of February 2005 did just that. The band had immediatley shot back to their best form. The crushing performance led to a positive review in a local newspaper and the band have been chosen as local openers for Grindcore legends 'Napalm Death'
