"Joe Huettner makes the world a better place" - Jess Blasko, Ithaca, New York Originally from a small farm in South Central Pennsylvania, JOE HUETTNER's pursuits in music led him to the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where he plans to major in Songwriting. “I don't think people want to hear about sadness all the time, and that seems to be a majority of the songs on the radio now,” says Huettner. “I want to get some happiness out there, but without sacrificing musical quality. However, if a sad song is written, I won't hesitate to let people hear it. Unless it sucks." As well as Songwriting, Joe's interests include playing the electric bass, reading up on Roman history, and being a diehard fan of the Boston Red Sox.

Story behind the song
"This song is for a friend of mine named Brian. Brian was having troubles with his girlfriend - the kind where you know it's over, but you keep going back, unable to move on...not really sure if you can move on. I had been through that kind of thing, so I wrote this little tune." - J.G.H.
Lyrics
Step out of the darkness Walk into the light Everybody's opening their arms to you But push them all away now And make up your own mind There's still time to give it up and start anew I know how you're feeling I've been there before No one's even listening to what you say But long ago I found out That I make my own rules And I don't care if no one listens anyway I've been kicked around, now I've been lost and left behind But I've got a life ahead of me And I'm gonna make it mine I'll put the past behind me And I'll start it all again And when my life is over, It'll be my life to end You're lost in confusion You're living in a daze You don't know if life with her is right or wrong But one thing you've forgotten - She's not the only one And someday you will find a girl where you belong You've been kicked around, now You've bee lost and left behind And if you choose to live that way Then pain is all you'll find You know it's time to move on Things just can't stay the same But you'll always have her memories - That's one thing that won't change The night can be so heavy With shadows all around But don't let darkness shield you from reality 'Cause nightfall doesn't last long And soon the sun will rise And tomorrow you'll be everything you want to be We've been kicked around, now We've been hurt so many times And we can't choose to live that way So let's leave it all behind We'll put the past behind us And we'll start again, my friend And when our lives are over, They'll be our lives to end. ---- Joe Huettner: Bass, Vocals Ben Wenk: Acoustic Guitar, Background Vocals Mike Orner: Drums
