Umojah I Stars is an eclectic reggae collective, the group has a revolving line up, including players of instruments, singers and MC's. Also the incredible, natural, sweet melodies of Papa V, adds harmony and soul. Along with Ras Simba's singing of wordplay creates an original vocal approach to reggae music. Also featuring in the I Stars is Freaky Stew (Freaks Union) on lead guitar/bass/drums, Patoti MC and selector (Firehouse Sounds) and Ras Kuma vocals and instruments. Irie Biffta's skanking guitar, bass line struts and production underpin Umojah I Stars works. Umojah I Stars captures the essence of contemporary, multicultural Britain, encompassing, embracing and reflecting a kaleidoscopic mix of influences, creating a unique vibe that is accessable to a diverse audience.

Story behind the song
Gateway is the upper east region Ghana, the gateway in and out of the country, Burkina Faso borders. Ras Simba and Ras Kuma were jamming at Tanga Studios, Bolgatanga and invited to record a demo by the owners to bring a new flavour to modern roots reggae being made at the studio.
