First off Im not a part of a band anymore, Im retired and I only write lyrics for songs and poems since my husband died in 2001 we were married for 51 yrs and he was the talented one he could play 4 musical instruments and had a wonderful voise and looked good to go with it. We did the Nashville thing when we were young but that kind of life gets old real fast. I gave it up when the children started coming and Bucky gave it up when his health started down hill. All good thing come to an end. During those years we met lots of wonderful people and I have pictures on my web sit Http;//www.DurrumFamilyTradition.zoomshare.com Pictures of all the Famous people we open the show for on Friday night Frolics at WSM.

Story behind the song
I was a working 9/5 Mother so when I got home tired and fixed a meal and he did`n come home to eat it or even call I got mad.And needless to I got even. Lesson #1 be considerate and call if your not goin to be there.A phone call may save your Marriage. Music (I paid for ) by Nashville Music Productions/ Vocals by John Stevenson I wrote the lyrics with my Husband in 1976 but changed it after he died .
Lyrics
My wife can`t take a joke anymore/ Barbara Durrum Now me and the boys We got together last night We were dealing those cards And everything was getting just right WE had waitress in tight fittin jeans And you know that`s trouble if you know what I mean. Now I got home about a quarter to four Found my wife can`t take a joke anymore. THe very next friday , We were at it again. I told myself I said Self, this time you better win. I found a note on my front door Said , honey you don`t live here anymore Guess she can`t take a joke anymore She went to the Lawyers the very next day Said let me tell you What all this sucker will pay They called me up , said meet me at four I guess my wife can`t take a joke anymore. Well the moral of this story If you know what I mean. Don`t run around with woman In tight fitting jeans You might get home Find a note on your door THE JOKES ON YOU CAUSE YOU DON`T LIVE HERE ANY MORE Guess my wife can`t take a joke anymore.
