Kevin Villarreal is a student of piano, saxophone, and composition. His developing musical style is a fusion of gospel, smooth jazz, and blues. Kevins songs are characterized by a strong melodic and sometimes lyrical quality resulting in a pleasing sound.
The CD, KALEIDOSCOPE , contains Kevin's latest songs from his 12th year. KALEIDOSCOPE features Kevin on keyboard and on alto saxophone. The result is a collection of catchy and fun tunes. Kevin's 11-year-old brother Logan helped write two of the songs on the album.
The CD, MOVING ON , represents the best songs Kevin composed and performed as an 11 year old. The song, FOREST SUNBEAM DANCE , was one of seven national finalist in the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) elementary division 2001-2002 composition competition. The song became eligible after winning the Washington State Music Teachers Association (WSMTA) and the MTNA Northwest Division composition competitions.
