Story behind the song
This tune is a moment of revelation. A man has just found out - he is not. A man who’s life - is not. A man who’s been - but isn’t - and never really was - now that the truth is known. He is neither machine nor man - he is a product of science and now his life must be re-written. His memories are liquid and he has no idea which are vapor or program. His life is now a science project - an argument taken to the higher level without regard. Is it was right or wrong? Is he a man or a object? Do the laws of mankind and religion apply to him too? Nothing is normal - or ever will be. The scientists and philosophers argue their points - but it is his existence that is a fact - and once they finish their debate they will return their “normal” lives. There is no “normal” for him. Existence - Life or program? Will he ever Love - can he Love? Can he raise a family? A family of what? Does his existence only serve them? He is - but should he be? Who does he look to for guidance? Who does he pray to? Does anyone listen? Does God recognize him?
