Story behind the song
I think this song pretty much speaks for itself. Everyone needs a "Hero," and what better "Hero" than the savior of the world.
Lyrics
Hero Stephen Fulton I’ve watched you as you’ve crumbled to the ground There you’d lie face down without a sound In hopes that you’ve avoided all there eyes Your heart is broken you can’t seem to find The strength to make it through another day You can’t carry on you’ve lost your way Now you’re trying to figure out how this could be You can’t understand can’t find the faith to believe Won’t you let me be you Hero I’ll guide you down the long hard road And when the darkness tries to overtake you let me light your way with truth When a heavy load makes you tired I’ll carry you for a while I will hold you I won’t let you go if you’ll let me be you Hero Many times this life can take its toll And you come to realize you have no control When everybody leaves you laying in your shame And there’s no one around to ease the pain I’m not the kind of Hero you might think A baby boy born in to poverty But my Father had a plan for me to be The Savior of the world to set it free As the whip tore deep into my skin You were on my mind even then And as they lifted me up high nailed to that tree I conquered death and hell to set you free
