Symphonic Rock
electronica progressive rock eclectic quartet strang anthemic
Artist picture
Eclectic, intelligent rock-driven tunes with big guitars and more than a hint of electronica give us a sound unlike any other band.
The Strang Quartet formed (officially) in Cambridge UK in 2003, consisting of long-time friends Martin (guitars and vocals) and Julian (drums, keyboards, guitars and production). Our mission statement: to make deep, meaningful, noisy sounds for the delectation of ourselves and others.

Lyrics
In the time when right and wrong were still forming Stepdaddy didn't treat you so good But then he never really treated Mummy that well He didn't really see why he should You blamed yourself for not saying "no!" You chided yourself for his hate You despised your own lack of power You just wanted control of your fate Loop the loop again and again When pain becomes the norm Take it away and life loses shape It burns like fire but at least it's warm. You saw the man at a cafe in Mayfair Gucci suit and Sorbie styled hair Something in you called for closure But a cynical voice demanded exposure Was it love or the need to survive? Anything's possible whilst you're alive. You met in the momentary glare of a flashgun You were the darling of nearly everyone Shallow but you held Versace so well So welcome to a journey to hell. In the beginning it was violets and violins In the end purple bruises and violence So you sold your story to the press Sobbed softly to the cameras in a low-cut dress Chorus You're showing us all there is to see And smiling at the lens like you wanted me But it's just a career and you hate yourself Damaged Goods left to rot on the shelf. Your bio was written by a faceless ghost Who pens saucy stories for the Evening Post Stretching the truth into corkscrew strands Crushing His life with a twist of your hands Skimming the surface of defamation Trying to tug the heart-strings of the nation You thought revenge would be so cathartic But inside you feel as cold as the Arctic. (Chorus) Kissing and telling Hissing and selling Pain turned to profit But you just can't drop it From Premier Cru To the sham and the pain Looping the loop It comes round again From the tabloids To the top shelf You're finding your face You're losing yourself Damaged Goods. You're damaged goods (Chorus) It's all just a game Plugging yourself shamelessly Warhol's Fifteen Minutes Frittered away so aimlessly The problem with being extreme.. is that it soon becomes the norm Yesterday hot property Today you're just lukewarm.
