The nonoctave miracle scale, slowly, in stacks of fifths, for four bassoons.

Eclectic microtonal/xenharmonic 21st-century
The time has come to say no to twelve tone equal. Ask Ivor Darreg. He knows. This project is, among other things, an argument for the further exploration of microtonal/xenharmonic tunings by more musicians. If you find this argument compelling or completely repulsive, please let me know. This project is also a response to the recognized need for more examples available on the internet, for the curious. The curious will never hope to get anywhere without trying out their ears.

Story behind the song
This is merely the beginning of an exploration of the wonderful scale that is somewhere around uniform 3/31-oct, nonoctave MIRACLE, the sixth root of 3/2, etc. Credit for discovery goes to XJ Scott. There was more of the piece, but it was too hard at the moment. You see, my whole idea is this giant tome of music to act as a foundation for bassoonists' (and cellists') learning of the 31-tone system, and yet I personally still don't have the intrapersonal resources to actually practice!
