When I was in high school the army called me up they said they’d pay for college if I’d just sign up They talked me into going down to talk to one of their guys He gave me information and some office supplies Another time later I was walking in a store A guy yelled at me and my friend said we should join the corp We listened real politely to everything he spoke We walked away like nothing that guy was a joke And now they’re in the high schools trying to recruit the kids Saying they’ll pay for college and that they’ll be rich They’re trying to get some kids to fight for their wealth Listen up kids cause their killing will not help So get out of our high schools you’re murdering the youth Get out of the hallways or tell them the truth Get out of the colleges these kids wanna survive These kids don’t wanna die for your riches they just wanna be alive I’m glad I’m out of high school but there’s some things I’d like to do Like stand up to the recruiters and tell them to get screwed I’d like to talk to my peers and tell them to not fight To expose those liars for what they are and make them tell them right But walking into a school is like walking into a war Cameras everywhere and everyone is a foe The administrations keep anyone from coming in Escept for the recruiters so I’ll just sing
