go go ghidohra: An experiment in the absurd. GGG emerged in 2000 AD, with the help of a Bontempi organ, a Yamaha 4-track cassette machine, Pendle Hill and the insides of whales. Their first album, “Evening Entertainments” was written, recorded and mixed in 5 days and released on the tiny Yuffie’s Sub Quest Records. Yuffie’s continued to shrink until nobody could see where they were anymore. The second release was an ep, “Demonstration Disc”, distributed by Chocolax. With this however the band fell victim to bloated rock-star excess taking a full week with the recording. Their third disc, “Head Of Monkey, Brain Of Cat” was written and recorded in 4 days. This was good. It was stated to be released on the American based Luche Libre Recordings. However the curse of Ghidohra struck again as another label associated with the band disappeared off the face of the planet. Lancashire County Council were informed but were unfortunately “powerless” to help. Their latest disc, “Once The Nipples Of Mother Hope Have Run Dry”, sees the band at the peak of their powers. In turns creepy, soothing, sick, belligerent and bewildering. Recorded in the bands custom built studio at Ghidohra HQ and incorporating the influences of Chris Isaak, the Northern Club Circuit, David Lynch, crime scene photographs and Saturday tea-time. Bleeps, squeals, whirls and purrs to oblivion GGG have also been included on these fine compilations: “Lab. Series Vol 1” Planetsounds Recordings “Minus Money Sampler 3” Minus Money “Go Go Ghidohra sound like they've caged some hellbeast and miked up its rumbling stomach full of lesser demons” www.brainwashed.com
